Building Inclusive Classroom Practice

workshop overview

How can we accommodate the diverse range of needs present in the international classroom? How can we cultivate feelings of belonging in our schools, teaching in a way that helps all students to thrive?

Great educators are inclusive in their approach: they understand the diverse learning needs that young people have and they strive to create a classroom that promotes acceptance and belonging. They have high expectations for everyone and they understand different strategies to help their students to meet, or exceed, their potential.

This session will explore ideas about how inclusive strategies can ensure academic achievement and positive attitudes to learning. Within this discussion, we will consider different types of need that might be encountered in the international classroom and some practical strategies to support these.
